Quadrature Encoder Counter board

This board is designed to use counter chips to provide an interface between quadrature encoders and the microprocessor.

This board uses the US Digial LS7366R 32-bit Quadrature Counter with SPI interface. The counter keeps track of the encoder pulses and allows the microprocessor to focus on motion control and communications.

This board has connections for three encoders. The microprocessor is capable of communicating with up to seven encoders using no additional pins, only with an additional 3-to-8 decoder.

Note: The current design does not pull the A and B connections to a logic level-- if they are not connected firmly, erratic counts will appear.

Note: The Digikey parts list does not include a prototyping board, but the Mouser parts list does.
