Assembly
Prepare the parts
- Put the X-AXIS COUPLER on a 62:1 Snap motor
- Screw the X-axis motor into the X Axis motor support plate as shown.
- Put the Z-axis pulley on a 62:1 Snap motor
- Screw the Z-axis motor into the Z Axis motor support plate as shown.
- Put the 6mm bearing in the X axis shaft support plates
- place the 6mm bearing in the Right Side plate
- place the 4mm bearing in the Z axis shaft support plate such that the flange faces the Z-axis motor when the part is installed.
- Set the Large thermoplastic inserts into the Bottom plate
Assembly
- Attach the X axis shaft support plates to the Back plate with the flanges facing outwards as shown
- Attach the X axis motor support plate and Z axis tensioner support plates to the back plate as shown
- Attach the top plate to the Back plate as shown using 6-32 screws and square nuts.
- Attach the Left plate as shown
- Attach the Right plate as shown. Take extreme caution with this step.
- Attach the Z-axis motor
- Attach the Z axis motor support plate and the Z axis shaft support plate to the back plate
- Slide the 25 mm shaft through the 4mm bearing in the Z axis shaft support plate and the shaft collar, located between the plates and flush with the bearing. When assembled, tighten the set screw on the coupler.
- Attach the Z axis motor support plate and the Z axis shaft support plate to the back plate
- Attach the X axis tensioner side support plates to the top plate
- Attach the front plate
- Attach the bottom plate
- Assemble the Snap hub support plates' as shown attach them Snap hub support plates to the rest of the Chassis
- Assemble the X axis drive
- slide the 6mm diameter shaft through the right side plate's bearing
- slide a X axis drive pulley onto the shaft with the thinner flange facing the motor support plate.
- slide the shaft through the bearing in the shaft support plates
- place the other 'X axis drive pulley onto the shaft with the thinner flange facing the shaft coupler.
- Slide the shaft into the shaft coupler
- Tighten all set screws
- Assemble X/Z tensioners
- Z axis tensioner
- place a ' tensioner side plate ' onto the ' y axis tensioner front plate ' with the 4mm bearing facing towards the thermoplastic insert
- place a 4mm Shaft into the bearing
- place a Tensioner Pulley onto the shaft with the teeth aligned with the insert
- place the other ' tensioner side plate' onto the shaft and ' tensioner front plate ' with the bearing facing towards the pulley
- 2 X axis tensioners
- place a ' tensioner side plate ' onto the ' y axis tensioner front plate ' with the 4mm bearing facing towards the thermoplastic insert
- place a 4mm Shaft into the bearing
- place a Tensioner Pulley onto the shaft with the teeth aligned with the insert
- place the other ' tensioner side plate' onto the shaft and ' tensioner front plate ' with the bearing facing towards the pulley
- Z axis tensioner
- Place X and Z tensioners into the base.
