I have also been an academic (Mathematics) for a number of years, with an active and continuing consultancy in electromagnetic fields, and have run a number of R&D projects in that field. I am currently drafting a proposal for a FabLab a la MIT here in Australia. I guess I have a track record of being a successful early adopter and this idea really appeals. Anyone else interested in the concept in Australia please feel free to contact me. Or for that matter anyone not in Australia as well. | ||

| none | Jeff Bowles | 11-Jan-07 | Cardiff, Wales, UK | bowles.art@googlemail.com | Technical illustrator working in 3D on Macs, very excited by this technology. | Richard | 01/12/2007 | UK | karnautrahl@gmail.com | I can think of thousands of uses, however, if one bright spark really wanted to make this available to less technically adept users they could make a killing having a full complete package ready built. Guess which market will really fly with this? Home designed/custom made "marital aids". I kid you not-first thing I thought of. This unlikely sounding notion might just be the ticket to take this to mass market appeal and make it take off. It looks a fantastic notion and I'd buy one tomorrow (if one was ready made). I won't be the only one. Time to Digg. Well done. Sorry I'm not a technical bod. Just a layman. I'd like to see this spread like wildfire though! | ||
| <no photo yet> | Mike Grauer Jr. | 01/13/2007 | Seabeck, Wa, USA | Linuxkingster@gmail.com | Great to see this. I wish Ham radio still had this sprit. I look forward to see this refined. As a animation student and 3D modeler. I would love to use this for things I have made in the computer. Let me know if there is any need in this realm. Keep up the good work. | |
| <no photo yet> | Kamran Granfar | 01/14/2007 | China | [6] | There has been definitely a lot of hard work put behind this project! Has anyone looked at increasing the "printing resolution"? I've noticed in Nano-Technology they've developed similar platforms which work on the same principle of scaffolding 2d layers of cells to effectively create a 3d result. The trick to get it so detailed is the use of Microsyringes. How difficult would it be to calibrate both extruding pressure of the syringe and x y & z spacing to adjust to the Microsyringe's 0.001mm accuracy? Please keep me in the loop about proactol the development of this project! Also, I'm highly interested in promoting the rapid growth of this open source project by offering parts from china at even more affordable prices! | |
| <no photo yet> | Joseph Cole (User Page) (Talk Page) (Contribs) | 01/14/2007 | Houston, TX, US | joecole@rice.edu | I plan to build one over the next few months. I think this work is very cool, and it has amazing potential. | |

| No Photo | John | I am new to this field. I saw the Fabber in Popular Science and believed it was perfect for quick(ish) prototyping for toys and robots. I cannot afford a Fabber unfortunately. So im just banging my head on the wall. I dont even know how to build something at all in CAD software. I want to prototype action figures and robots. | ||||
