Updates?
So what's up with the F@H project? As far as I can tell, this forum and the FabStudio launchpad page are dead. I like the F@H project, and I don't want to see the users abandoned. I think the best thing that could happen for the F@H community would be a nice, big, detail-filled update on the status of the project. That being said, I understand everyone is busy during the academic calendar.
I'm a biomedical engineering grad student using a heavily redesigned F@H2 for various things in Tissue Engineering, and I've reached a turning point where I could either abandon the F@H2 or try to make it work for our project. Our lab specializes in MSC's(a type of stem cell) and would like to use the F@H2 to generate "printed" tissues, but it is becoming increasingly difficult to use the FabStudio application for our printing purposes. We are worried that FabStudio's shortcomings will force us to abandon the F@H2. If we end up halting the F@H2 operation, I'll be sure to share our upgraded design for it.
The only way we can see ourselves using the F@H2 in our project is if a new version of the software is introduced relatively soon. I am having nothing but problems trying to run the source code. That being said, I am nothing close to talented with c++, especially qt.
Anyhow, here's to hoping the project stays strong!

Hi TJ.
We are alive and kicking. We havent had feedback from people letting us know whats wrong and what needs fixing so we have let the software stand. Most of our focus has been on applications and what not. the forum never really took off, and Im not sure why. But there are still tons of people using Fab@home in a wide variety of activities. many of them are bio-researchers like yourself, who tend to be very secretive.
Can you tell me whats been wrong with the model 2 for your purposes? how have you modified the machine? We would be happy to help you develop the system to work with your needs. Feel free to talk about them here or via email.
