What does "pitch" control in the Model 2 printer?
Hi everyone,
I am using a Model 2 printer with FabStudio v1 Beta and FAB2 FabInterpreter. I was wondering if anyone understands what the "pitch" value means when creating a new .xml file for a material. When I dramatically changed the value FabInterpreter could not execute the printing process, but I still don't know what the pitch value affects! Does anyone know, and if so, what a range of reasonable values would be?
Thanks!
i believe it is the "step over" distance between the lines that the head will follow when generating the code. It is dependent on the diameter of the material you are printing.
for instance if you are printing with a head that extrudes the material at 1mm diameter, you will need a pitch of 1mm in order to create a solid sheet with no gaps between the extruded lines of material.
Actually its a hold over value from model 1 code. It just need to be kept there and ignored for the most part
